On October 11-12, our CTO Benjamin Chery and Deputy CEO Olivier Hertu flew from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore to attend the 2022 Edition of the Singapore Tech Week, a major event taking place at the prestigious Marina Bay Sands, attracting over 22,000 visitors, and centered around 7 key topics:

Cybersecurity issues at the heart of Dirox's concerns

This year, Dirox's attention was particularly focused on Cybersecurity activities, a major issue for the future, and at the heart of our concerns. Indeed, recent years have seen a worrying resurgence of cyber attacks of all kinds, jeopardizing the infrastructure and businesses that depend on it.

With the global pandemic and the adaptation of the business world in terms of employee work organization, and the generalization of remote work, hackers and other malicious people have seen a superb opportunity to take advantage of less secure environments (home VS office).

‍

This is a trend that continues despite the return to normal, since between 2022 and 2021, it is estimated that threats related to cybercrime have increased by 60%!

‍

Dirox has always been a strong advocate of IT protection for its customers, who unfortunately often view security measures as an afterthought. This is why the testing phases of the digital products we develop are so dear to us, and this is why with Dirox Care, we want to raise awareness and help our customers reduce the risks to which they are exposed when their software, applications, or infrastructures lack robustness.

The damage caused by security breaches in a company's programs or computers amounts to billions of dollars each year. Material damage, data loss, and leaks of user information leading to mistrust, and delays, are all good reasons to take these threats seriously.

And to deal with these problems, nothing better than to keep informed of the problems and solutions in contact with the authorities in the matter!

A great opportunity to tap into the industry trends

Beyond cybersecurity issues, our special correspondents were able to venture into the maze of the show, in contact with major players in the tech industry.

Among the hundreds of exhibitors at Singapore Tech Week, all the essentials were present: Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, AMD, Deutsch Telekom, Hitachi, Huawei, Lenovo, and OVH... in addition to a myriad of companies from around the world, and more particularly from South East Asia who came to share their expertise. As such, Data Protection, GDPR, Cryptos, the Metaverse, and Web 3.0... were among our main interests.

Dirox's presence at Singapore Tech Week was the perfect opportunity to meet our colleagues and potential partners, while strengthening our ties with Singapore, one of the world leaders in the tech industry.
